COMMUNITY STATEMENT

Community Statement
I’ve never been someone who thought I was special. I never really had a super easy time in school, I’ve had to work and grind my way to just passing my classes as a kid. Being dyslexic as a child made it so I never even wanted to read because I was less likely to understand what someone was trying to say to me. A There was one thing that made me want to read though. That something was video games. Back when I was a child the video game that I played were mostly text based and there were little to no voice acting. I started with Pokémon and that got me to learn the very basics of reading. Over time this grew to other games and more advanced words. Those video games lead to books that I wanted to read in order to know the stories. In those stories there were tales of heroes that did whatever it took. In those stories they showed people going through great trial but stood tall. These games inspired me to work hard. Those game inspired me to be a better person, and even gave me something to look forward to at the end of the day.
I want to do the same thing with my work. I want to make something that helps people be better. Some to inspire them to get up and reach for their dreams, and that just because they are going through something that seems unconquerable there is still hope. I want to inspire people to be the heroes in their own stories. World of Warcraft was the books I read, full of cheesy over the top character. Those Are the character that showed me how to be outgoing and grand in speech. 
If any of my work reaches one person and helps them to be better, that will be worth it. I can’t say that I’ve been a generous person when donating my time. Something I’m proud of though is helping people in my teams. When I worked on the team Escape room AR I helped with trouble shooting problems and researched to try and help the pipeline move faster. The mentorship award I received was not expected but I am grateful that the team gave it to me.
My only grand goal is to become a Concept artist. The final result toward the end being that I made something that helped people be the best they can. Through some art make people think outside the box. Also maybe show that no matter how hard things look you have the power to try to make life better.
